Unlike any other time in the music industry, recording studios are now in a position of strength when it comes to marketing their clients,” says PMS Site Coordinator, Ron Meliment. “No longer is it necessary for the creative sector of the industry to depend on the whims of big money and fickle record labels to make careers happen. The online music retail explosion has changed all of that.” Individual studio owners and their clients now have the power to become a major force in the industry without having to sacrifice anything in return. PMS is now placing participating studios in the driver’s seat by increasing their prestige in the music community and improving their financial portfolios.
The Philly Music Store is now paying twenty-percent commissions to recording studios on all memberships they are responsible for referring to the store. By assigning a unique code to each studio, PMS will track each studio’s client that signs up with the PMS, so when clients get paid, studios get paid, too. As an extra bonus, all participating studios will also be added free of charge to the PMS’s front page billboard Ads!
